20 Things I Wish People Knew When (Re)starting their fitness journey

1. Weight loss requires being in a calorie deficit

2. Doing only Cardio will turn you into a yo-yo-every time you lose weight you gain back more

3. There is no such thing as a "spot reducing exercise"

4. You probably need to eat A LOT MORE protein than you are currently eating. It will make you feel satisfied

5. Carbs are not the enemy


6. #Fat is not the enemy either

7. #Goodfat is ok-but too much of it can derail your results

8. Fat burning supplements don’t really work

9. #IntermittentFasting can have great results but it is not for everyone especially if you are insulin resistant or your hormones are out of whack

10. Lifting weights is KEY to transforming how your body looks

11. And #theheavieryoulift the better-yes women too

12. Lifting heavy weights will not make you bulky (I can offer a guarantee on this 😊




13. The heart is an easy muscle to train

14. Walking first thing in the morning for 15 minutes will help you sleep better at night

15. Good Nutrition is the BEST strategy for weight loss and changing the way you look

16. Take pictures at least every two weeks-when on a fitness journey the scale may not move as much as you want it to but your pictures will show the true changes

17. Measuring = results

18. There are amazing apps that are easy to use and help with #accountability

19. The only progress that truly matters is your own-there is no use comparing yours to others everyone's journey is unique

20. Your friend is not an expert (or maybe they are) but if they aren’t a Coach take their advice with a grain of salt

21. Not everything on the internet is accurate or written by someone who knows what they are talking about
