5 Fitness Rookie Mistakes

There is SOOOOO much information out there & there is so much contradiction. If you google fitness plans & nutrition & diets you will get BILLIONS of hits & sorting through all that is daunting!!

So here are 5 ROOKIE MISTAKES & some tips to think about if you are just getting back into it

Don't cut your #carbs too early

When you first start working out your energy output will be really high espcecially if you are not used to exercising or have taken a break

You want to avoid sugar especially fast burning quick energy sugars like table sugar or simple carbs. But if you cut all carbs right away you will be pretty hungry.

So cascade your carbs down slowly-switch out your simple carbs for #complex carbs. Eat more slow digesting carbs like whole wheat, sweet potatoes, hearty vegetables, barley, millet etc.

Make sure your have a structured plan

You need an actual training plan so that you know what to do when you go to the gym (or workout at home)

If you are new get a #fitnesscoach to set something up for you. If you are not new you still need a plan-show up at the gym knowing exactly what you are going to do that day

And add a structure to all of your #workouts for the week. If you are new that could look something like Day 1 Upper Body, Day 2 Lower Body, Day 3 Break/cardio, Day 4 Upper Body, Day 5 Lower Body.

Being Unrealistic About Your Goals

If you are thinking that this will happen over night its not. You need to set up your expectations so that you can realistically achive your goals and not be dissapointed. We set out goals for people in the categories "comfortable", "realistic" and "extreme". Meaning you can choose a plan that can be done more quickly but you will have to work harder. If they want comfortable weight loss for example we can make that happen it just takes a little longer

Improper Training Form

Make sure that you know what proper form is. If you want to learn a more advanced move like a squat or a deadlift form is key to not being injured. We are not discouraging you from trying a new move-we want you to do it well so that you dont get hurt & have to stop thereby not reaching your goals

Trying To Be Perfect

When you are tackling something new or trying to get back in the game you have to know that you wont maintain perfect all the time.

Live in the 90-meaning 9/10 times you make the best nutrition choice. 9/10 times you make your scheduled workout. By choosing the best choice most of the time the consistency will add up & you will see results
